Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will participate in the 8th West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD), taking place from 15–19 September 2026 in Accra, Ghana.  

TJNA will bring a civil society perspective to discussions on strengthening domestic resource mobilisation, building taxpayer trust, and creating fair, transparent, and inclusive tax systems. It will also showcase its work on health taxes as a tool for domestic resource mobilisation and sustainable development. 

Oxfam Kenya (OKE), the Centre for Economic Governance (CEG), Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), the Institute of Public Finance (IPF), and the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) will convene a two-day Kenyan Civil Society Learning, Strategy and Policy Dialogue Workshop on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation (UN Tax Convention) in Nairobi from 8–9 July 2026.

African countries are calling for restorative and reparative taxation measures that offer tangible remedies to communities most impacted by the climate crisis. 

This call was made during the second Regional Strategy Convening on Climate Finance and Taxation, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will participate in a side session at the Conference of Parties (COP30) titled “Balancing Extraction, Climate Finance, and Just Transition: Advancing Sustainable Mining for Climate and Development in Liberia,” on 18 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. 

The Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) extends its warmest congratulations to Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) on reaching an incredible milestone. 40 years of feminist organising, leadership, and transformative action. 

Since its founding in 1985, AMwA has been a cornerstone of the Pan-African feminist movement, a space where sisterhood is nurtured, voices are amplified, and leadership is cultivated. For four decades, AMwA has inspired and equipped generations of African women to lead boldly, challenge inequality, and reimagine a just and inclusive continent. 

The Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) has formalised a strategic partnership with the African Future Policies Hub (AFPH) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Sustainable Climate Finance and Taxation in Africa Civil Society Learning Event held on 5 September 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will spotlight the transformative role of tax systems in promoting sustainable health outcomes at the 10th African Tax Research Network (ATRN) Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, from 16 to 18 September 2025. 

Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) are hosting an in-person side-event at the Africa Climate Summit on September 9, 2025, in Addis Ababa. 

Organised under the theme "Rethinking Fiscal Incentives for a Just Energy Transition: Lessons from Green and Fossil Fuel Regimes," this event will take place alongside the second Africa Climate Summit and will focus on how tax policies can facilitate a just energy transition in Africa.  

The African Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows and Taxation (APNIFFT), under the coordination of Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), will convene for its 2025 Continental Conference, taking place from 13–15 October 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
