TJNA calls for transparent and equitable tax policies across Africa, focusing on tax incentives, tax expenditures, and investment treaties. We advocate for accountability in tax incentives, which often benefit multinational corporations at the expense of public services and call for regional cooperation to prevent harmful tax competition. We also emphasise the need for tax incentives to align with development goals and better governance.
In terms of tax expenditures, TJNA urges greater transparency and oversight to prevent revenue losses that impact essential services like education and healthcare. We also advocate for stronger investment treaties and double taxation agreements (DTAs) that protect African tax bases and ensure fair contributions from multinational corporations.
