TJNA advocates for reforms in the international financial system to combat illicit financial flows, improve tax transparency, and address the taxation of digital services. We emphasise the need for greater transparency and accountability, especially in the Global South. We support the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation, which is crucial in democratizing global tax regulations.
Furthermore, TJNA promotes transparency in beneficial ownership to prevent tax evasion and the misuse of tax havens. We are committed to ensuring fair taxation of digital services, as multinational corporations often exploit loopholes to avoid paying taxes, which deprives African countries of essential revenue critical for economic development. By advocating for transparent systems and equitable digital taxation policies, TJNA aims to strengthen Africa’s economic stability and ensure that tax systems align with development needs while curbing corruption and illicit financial flows.
