Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) and the African Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows and Taxation (APNIFFT) are pleased to announce the 2023 African Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows and Taxation Continental Conference (APNIFFT 2023), to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from the 25th to the 26th of October 2023.
The theme for APNIFFT 2023 is "Africa's Leadership in Combatting Illicit Financial Flows.”
The event will bring together parliamentarians, tax justice stakeholders and policymakers from across Africa and beyond. It will focus on the role members of parliament play in addressing the pressing issue of illicit financial flows and its detrimental impact on Africa's development and poverty reduction efforts.
The event will be held in both English and French and will be structured into the following sessions and activities:
- Opening ceremony
- Keynotes speeches
- Panel discussions and plenary sessions
- Trainings
- National parliamentary caucus briefings and discussions
- Consultation meetings, focus groups, and roundtables
APNIFFT is a flagship programme by TJNA that provides a platform for African members of parliament to join efforts and chart a pan-African roadmap to tackling the challenge of illicit financial flows that continue to drain much-needed domestic resources to propel Africa’s development objectives as outlined in the African Union Agenda 2063.
