Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will be participating at the Alternative Mining Indaba (AMI) 2025, which will be held from 3 to 6 February 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.

The AMI2025 will bring together representatives of NGOs and Civil society, activists, mining-affected communities, faith-based organisations, the private sector, and government representatives to keep promoting a people-centered and environmentally sustainable approach to the clean energy transition.

The Alternative Mining Indaba is a global space for stakeholders to discuss, debate, highlight and provide solidarity for those impacted and affected by extractives, especially mining.

This year’s theme is “Energy transition for who? The critical question of our times!” AMI 2025 seeks to create a safe and inclusive space for diverse stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogues, critiques, and analyses of their interactions with the extractive industries, to align efforts and perspectives, and to amplify a unified voice advocating for transformative change.

Africa’s extractive sector plays a vital role in economic growth, yet challenges persist in ensuring resource revenues contribute effectively to sustainable development and climate action.
