Today, we unite in celebration of Human Rights Day, a global reminder that every person is entitled to dignity, justice, and equality no matter where they are from, their race, their gender, or their beliefs.
This year’s theme "Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now" focuses on how human rights serve as a transformative force for good, offering preventative, protective, and restorative solutions.
As we reflect on this day, let’s commit to protecting the rights of the vulnerable, challenging injustice, and empowering communities to create a fairer, more sustainable world, knowing that our collective actions today shape a more peaceful, equitable, and inclusive future for all. Fair taxation systems uphold human rights by ensuring resources are distributed justly, supporting education, healthcare, and opportunities for all.
Tax Justice Network Africa celebrates the principles of equality, dignity, and justice that underpin human rights across the globe. We are building a new Africa where tax justice prevails. Alongside leading researchers, policymakers, campaigners, and civil society organisations, we are mobilizing a movement to comprehensively transform tax policy, challenge harmful investment practices, improve international tax transparency, and restore sovereignty of natural resources back to African countries.
